Revealing Ronna
A Story of Courage and Hope
The year was 1971, and the ice castles were being built during the Minnesota winter. Nine-year-old Ronna felt trapped as the words from her dad, Stanley, penetrated her mind after he saw her short haircut. “You will look like a dog in pictures.” He loved her long hair. Her excitement had been replaced with paralyzing anxiety. She did not know how to escape the thoughts which were shaping her distorted self-image. Stanley was instilling warped messages in Ronna’s heart — one minute she was his “princess” the other she “looked like a dog.” Her mom, Ruth, had been beaten down by life and did not know how to protect Ronna. Somehow Ronna would flee the madness — hopefully the path brought her out of the inner turmoil.
Lorri Antioch
Author of Revealing Ronna
LORRI ANTIOCH was born and raised outside the city of St. Paul, Minnesota in the charming Land of 10,000 Lakes. Lorri’s journey with raising her three children gave her hope for seeing others find freedom from painful life experiences so they can go onto fulfill their life’s destiny. This hope sparked the idea for Ronna’s story as Lorri applied her passions to the pages weaving a tale of the tribulations and triumphs along the journey of life. Lorri’s faith and family are the two most cherished pieces in her life. A close second is her Goldendoodle, Rocky, who loves snuggling at her feet while she writes. When not writing or spending time with family, Lorri enjoys traveling, playing golf and pursuing new adventures.
